It can come as a terrible shock when we learn that our child has a heart disorder. It is only natural that we begin to ask ourselves questions.

Why us? What happens now? Are we to blame?
Where can I get help and support?

The Association for Children with Heart Disorders is a friendly support organisation, with groups and contacts.

Many of us have been through the shock of discovering that our child has a heart disorder and we know it can be a difficult time. Sometimes, just sharing the experience with someone who has been in a similar position can help relieve the stress and tension, and improve our outlook on matters.

Local groups of people, whose own children have heart disorders, meet on a regular basis for social contact, to share information and experiences, and raise funds to continue the work of the organisation.

The Association for Children with Heart Disorders offers support and help:

  • Where can I get help?
  • Who would understand?
  • What shall I tell my child?
  • How can I teach my child to cope?
  • How can Icope myself?
  • How can I promote a happy lifestyle?
